I need a new helmet - primarily for Skip Formula. I've been looking at HJC, Bell K-1. Someone recommended a Zamp R32 (which sort of looks like the Bell K-1.

Any recommendations?

My name is David. I'm happy to share with you that I'll be attending the 3 day school at Road Atlanta in August. I've also sent in an application for the Indycar Academy.

Will anyone else on here (students or instructors) be at the August 13-15 school? I'm looking forward to learning the fundamentals of racing from, what I have heard is, the best school around.

- How you got into racing.

I love anything with an engine. My dad and mom are both car nuts, though neither one of them has any formal racing experience. I learned how to ride dirtbikes when I was young and that understanding carried over into learning how to drive a manual gearbox when I was barely tall enough to push the clutch down (with some pillows behind my back, haha).

- How you found this website.

- What vehicles you play with at home and on the track.

I've always been a big BMW fan. I love older BMWs. I've had an S50 E30, 2 E36 M3s, and 4 E46's (325ci, 325ci, 330ci, M3). My friends have also been kind enough to let me drive their cars at our local autox club. I've had some fun in S2000s, Miatas, 996s and a couple M5s.

- Your future plans in respect to racing.

Pending things go well, I would love to work my way up through the ladder to a sponsorship. But we have to crawl before we can walk, and we have to walk before we can run, right? :)

- What keeps you busy during the day? Job, School etc.

Other than family, friends, and cars, I am finishing up my degree and I work 2 jobs to pay the bills.

Looking forward to meeting members on here in person (hopefully).

My interests are F1 motoGP indycar series and also Dakar stuff.
I did have the luck to be an VIP in Spa in '98 F1 GP ....
This resulted in an addiction to F1 and all kind of car an motosports.
I did do some motocross and karting but more as field fillup than a talent ..

More good news about Alexander Rossi:

"In his capacity as Official Test Driver for the Caterham F1 Team, American driver Alexander Rossi will drive in the first Free Practice session of the forthcoming Spanish Grand Prix on Friday; on this occasion replacing the team's racing driver Heikki Kovalainen. Alexander will be the first American driver since Scott Speed in 2007 to take to an F1 track during an official round of the pinnacle of motorsport, the FIA Formula 1™ World Championship."

I got this email from LRP yesterday, $2,400 for a three day school.

Just a heads up to all that loved and cared about Sid - tomorrow on May 10th it's the first anniversary of his death. I'll be raising a glass (or maybe a few) to my friend, who I've missed terribly.

Have allways wanted to drive a F1 car and never thought it would be possible, with the advent of the internet and global buisnesses I was able to find an F1 experience school. Will have to go to france but it can be done!. costly, yes but we are talking real F1 no speed limits or artificial rev limits. So I very much need to get up to speed in open wheelers before trying something of this magnitude. So thats why I am here, to learn and have fun, Its never too late! Skip barber seemed to have the nicest cars and a variety of F3 programs, also talking to others that were well satisfied and said the people were good too! So my journey begins in August and um pretty excited.... Ninja

What an awesome race with a whole bunch of people I race regulary on iRacing, which makes the whole thing even cooler to watch :)
